I find it a horrible sign that there is no thread for this yet. I have been waiting for someone to start it.

I absolutely loved the episode. Loved it so much I watched it twice within 12 hours of it airing. I never watch anything twice.

The flashback redux is not anything new, but I thought the way they did it worked really well and when you went and saw the whole yacht scene again, I thought it was pretty cool to read into all the looks and glances.

I thought burning down a 30 million dollar mansion was excessive to cover an accidental death, but so was giving your family lawyer a yacht for his birthday.

They have painted Nick into an interesting corner with the Letitia arrest. How does he act as their family lawyer when the crime is the murder of their father. Obviously he would not defend her, but just providing any counsel or guidance would be hard for him.

As for Simon Elder, I am wholly confused as to what "he got". When he made that phone call after Karen left.

Anyways glad the show is back. I was looking forward to it, but with a bit of trepidation, as I had read they made a lot of changes, think they got a new show runner and some other things that made me worried the show was going to be significantly different. I thought it was great though.

Unfortunately it does not sound like anyone else watched it, so that is not good for the life of this show.

Zoe McLellan (Lisa) looked even better than she did last season. NOM NOM NOM...

My TiVo didn't pick this one up so I had to get it off the intertubes.

Even more confusing to me than Simon saying "we've got her" is her stealing his swan figurine and giving it to her father. During the first runthrough at the beginning I thought she handed him the keys to the yacht. Is it really worth a lot more than Simon said? Or, did Karen steal it because it holds sentimental value to Simon, just like Darling Plaza did for the family?

I did think this was a strong episode, but I don't buy the Jeremy/Lisa story line at all. I'm a guy so maybe I don't get it, but he seems way too immature for her to be tempted by him like that. Even if she was drunk. Hopefully that's over now.

PS. I bet Trip really did get Brian's wife's visa problems resolved.

I watched, but found little comment-worthy. Interested to see how/how well they use Lucy Liu.

I just watched it. The end of the episode: I didn't see that coming!

I watched it a few days ago, did I miss it or did they explain the missing twin?

I'm annoyed they killed one of the hot women...the show is decent...I don't like the arc with Simon at all and all the secrecy...

not trying to be negative...I'll watch the show and will continue to watch...

I didn't really like the flashback aspect of the episode. Sometimes I REALLY like that technique, but this time I didn't care for it. Nick and his wife making up in the opening, spoiled the tension they were setting up for them.

Overall, I really like this show, and will continue to watch to see what happens.

I liked the show. It had a lot of twists and turns that may prove to be an interesting season.

The way I saw it was, Simon thought he "got" Karen - i.e. she has fallen for him against her father's wishes and he now has her under his control. However, the twist was we saw her hand his sentimental bauble to her father implying that she was playing him the whole time. But you also have to consider how far she is taking the act (if it is an act). She was alone with Nick when she made the 'realization' that she was in love with Simon. Was that just part of the act knowing that Simon has been in contact with Nick before?

Fun stuff.

I also thought she hand her father keys in the beginning but I deleted it so I can't go back and watch.

They didn't show what she handed him the first time so you didn't miss anything. :)

I was pleased the series was returning. Now...not so much.

I'm fairly certain Juliet (Jeremy's twin sister) wasn't even mentioned.

I am under the impression that Samaire Armstrong is, er, "battling personal demons" and will be making only occasional appearances from this point forward.

Awful, they ditched/rewrote waaay too much from last season. Hardly a word about Dutch's death. Nothing said whatsoever about the missing twin sister. The sleazy minister is no longer a minister at all. I thought his character was one of the most interesting. I'm done with this one and it was my favorite freshman show from a year ago.

Wow, I just watched this last night and it totally reminded me why I like this show so much.

Brain quit the ministry at the end of last season. He could no longer handle dealing with the church or his duties as a priest. (Not to mention he fathered a child out of wedlock.)

Dutch's death is obviously coming back to the forefront now. But, it has been a year since his death (I think based on show time.). While Nick has certainly not forgotten his father's death, he can't dwell on it all the time.

Missing sister. She was basically missing the second half of the season anyway. And she didn't add anything anyway.

I really like the Simon/Karen story. I still can't be sure he is REALLY playing who. They both seem to be in control.

Absolutely just love to watch Donald Sutherland act. He just oozes the character of Tripp.

The only character I don't like is Patrick. I just can't get over his self-pity and pining for his "girlfriend."

Loved this episode, if anything it was even better than last year. But a couple of hours later, one thing really bothered me: although it was exciting at the time, in retrospect it made no sense at all that the cops made such a spectacular production out of arresting Mrs. Darling, with helicopters, bullhorns, and the rest. There was no need for that - the crime (if that's what it was) was committed a year ago, they know where she lives, all they had to do was send a couple of officers to her home to pick her up for questioning. She would surely have come quietly and then brought in the best criminal defense lawyers money can buy.

Granted, it's a fictional show whose writers are more concerned with entertainment value than realism, but for some reason this particular plot twist strikes me as unnecessarily preposterous.

Yeah, no doubt. It's not like they'd been looking for her for months with no idea of her whereabouts and finally got a tip about her attending a party down at the yacht club. Quick! Get the chopper!

Great episode - I LOVE this show. It's probably my second favorite show right now, after "Life".

They did a great job of getting us caught back up on all of the crazy twists of a large ensemble of characters very quickly. Simon "got" Karen because she didn't turn over the big "secret" to her dad. She took the sentimental bauble - because she had to have something to give him, so that she could justify to him continuing to see Simon. But Simon is the one playing her. He knows that she was sent to play him, but he's now turned the tables.

As soon as the police helicopter appeared, I immediately went to the catalog of possible reasons for their appearance:
1. Looking for Patrick's wife, on the possibility that she'd had Carmelita killed and they'd found the body (which would have led to more interesting stuff when they couldn't find Patrick's wife on the boat).
2. Looking for Patrick, because they'd found the body of his wife (or someone else - Tripp or even Nick, who might have left DNA evidence behind).

Picking up Letitia for Dutch's death was a great surprise - and will likely force the truth about Brian's parentage.

Using the chopper to pick her up on the yacht was perhaps a bit much. But they might have been concerned that being on a yacht large enough to be an ocean-going vessel might have provided Letitia with a chance to move out into international waters if she got wind that they were going to pick her up, so they pounced before she could run.

It could also be that whomever ordered the arrest has a vendetta against the Darlings for some reason. We won't know if it makes sense or not until we know what's going on.

As if the birthday party someone would throw for their attorney wasn't far enough over the top, the yacht most certainly was. So much as to basically be Tripp sending a message that "I own you." On a more practical note, are we to assume that the gift also includes the certainly enormous expense of operating and maintaining such a vessel?

I was thinking the same thing. "Hey, here's gift that's going to cost you thousands of dollars a month to own. Happy Birthday!"
