Series 2 dead tuner

My beloved first ever tivo, a single tuner series 2 TCD140060 now has a fried tuner after a power surge. everything else is working fine. It has a lifetime sub, and I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to bring it back, or put to use in some way? Any suggestions are welcome.

Use it with a cable or OTA box, simplest answer. Any other source you'd be using a box anyways.

Harder would be to replace the tuner module. Thinking, although probably rare, the 30V line from the PSU may have failed. Slightly easier would be to move the crypto chip to a known good 140 board.
