I have a Pioneer 57h. I love this TiVo, but it's sick... It's been "stuttering" quite a bit recently, and has been experiencing complete lock-ups every few weeks, requiring a hard reboot. The final blow is that it is now unable to download program information and I have now run out of guide data. I can connect to TiVo, but no data seems to be imported. Most of the time it won't let me even try as its status is "pending reset."
I'm pretty sure this is all a hard drive issue and a new drive will fix things -- as well as give me some extra space. I've found the replacement drive I want to use but am hesitating a bit...
My issue is that I have a number of TV shows recorded on the TiVo that I'd like to both keep, and be able to burn from the TiVo. I know the software prevents burning shows that were recorded on another machine and transfered over. My question is, can I transfer these recordings over to my PC using TiVo Desktop or to my other TiVo, upgrade the harddrive and transfer the recordings back? Ok, I'm sure I can do that, but can I still burn these recordings on the TiVo?
Thanks!
