Can I just swap my 160gb hard drive from a AT&T Series 2 model 130040 into a TIVO Series 2 540080? Or do I have to InstantCake the 160gb drive?
Thanks for any advise.

No, you cannot swap. Yes, you will need an Instant Cake image.

To swap drive among different machines, the Tivos need to be virtually identical.
