I just experienced a strange issue with the Tivo live guide regarding recording "The Office" on NBC....
*I KNOW the season premiere was yesterday 9/25 at 9PM. Unfortunately I forgot to record it.
*"The Office" on NBC does not currently appear to exist in any search format?!?! (it does appear on other networks as re-runs though)
*I went backwards in the program guide to make sure the show aired(nice new feature, BTW). "The Office" was, in fact, listed as being aired @9PM EST on NBC.
*I suspect a local cable company issue is the problem.
Maybe their download info is screwy....
*I have been a Tivo subscriber for 4-5 years, am quite familiar with the user interface and guide functions.
*Has anyone else in my carrier area experienced the same issue with this program?
Equipment: TiVo Series 3 dual HD tuner with cablecards
Carrier: Comcast of NJ/Meadowlands
I hope I haven't wasted too much of your time, and this is posted in the correct forum.
Considering that I pay extra $$ for the live guide, it should be correct no matter who is to blame. I just want to know who to tell that they need to do some fixing of things....
Thanks for your input..

It's not on in the next two weeks, so not in the guide.

Cosmic - I experienced the exact same issue (Tivo HD, Comcast cable, AT&T internet, SF Bay Area) - Came home last night to watch the Office season premiere, only to find it was not recorded - Found it listed, like you did, back in time, Thursday 9:00pm on NBC, so it did in fact run (friends also confirmed their comcast DVR picked it up) - Checked Season Pass manager (as the Office is already in my Season Pass from previous seasons), and upcoming episodes are only listed on TBS (as repeats) - No upcoming shows for the Office on NBC are listed - Irritating! Same goes if you search for the show on Tivo.com - Office listed only on TBS - I did, however, see that you can purchase this episode from Amazon for $1.99, but frankly, Tivo should have grabbed it in the first place. Calling Tivo Support this morning had an initial response stating that the storms in the East Coast were affecting service, and there were some changes with AT&T internet services that are affecting the Tivo Service - Oh well.

First: As Turtleboy said, ITS NOT SHOWING IN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS.
Thus, it will not show in the guide (except for TBS reruns).
Second: What does your recording history say about the missed recording?
I have Comcast and my season pass picked it up and recorded it fine. If you're using a season pass from last season, perhaps something changed with your lineup and it'll need to be recreated.

Fine that it's not showing in the next 2 weeks - To the best of my knowledge, the lineup hasn't changed - 703 is NBC HD - Nothing is listed for The Office in my recording history, it skipped it entirely - The existing Office Season Pass shows upcoming episodes on TBS but nothing for NBC (and why it's showing TBS is beyond me, given the pass says record the show on NBC 703 only - I now have a second entry for the Office on TBS) - By deleting the existing entry, I won't be able to create a new one until the NBC airing is actually listed in the guide again.
In any case, Tivo should already know that I like the show (3 thumbs), I have other older episodes in my Now Playing list, it's on NBC HD 703, and to record it - Now I have wishlists, etc. to avoid this issue in the future -
Cosmic - watch the full episode for free on NBC.com -

Ah, if you have older episodes still on the box perhaps you've maxed out the season pass setting? For example, if you have the season pass set to keep at most 5 and you have 5 or more already on the box (set to 'keep until I delete') it may not record anything since you've essentially told it not to. Not positive if that's how the recording logic works, but you might check that too...

Cosmic - watch the full episode for free on NBC.com -
...or you can use http://www.hulu.com/ (Also a free site, sponsored by networks and studios).
FWIW - My SP of "The Office" recorded properly, and I did not change the SP from last year.

That answer makes sense to me. I didn't know it wasn't going to be on for 2 weeks.
Ill wait a week and then check the listings and lock in the season pass then. Im somewhat sure if I left last season's program pass in there it would have recorded....
Thanks everyone for your help! I thought I was losing my mind.....

I am having the same issue as well. I was not able to fine it in the search and so as a back up put the office in the wishlist but that did not help for I only got TBS and not NBC. Strange. I hope the problem can be fixed or I guess I will have to due time scheduling since you can't even fine the show during manual recording. Yuck
Maybe it could be based on location and cable service with Tivo. I live in Denver CO

No. It is, again, based on the fact that it's not on in the next two weeks.

No, its not strange. This is usual behavior and is not because of your location or any other factor other than the show is not scheduled to be on in the next couple of weeks. Your wishlist will pick up The Office (provided you set up your WL correctly) once it is in the program guide. Also, once in the program guide, you will be able to create a SP.
