I posted this over at AVS as well.. but thought it would be worth it to post it here as well...

Am I the only one that still has the tivo software on my Comcast box?.. Or is it just that no one is having problems with it anymore? I can't find anyone talking about this anywhere on the web...

I noticed that there seemed to be a somewhat major firmware update ( based on version numbers) a couple nights ago.. i don't have the exact version numbers, but i did notice that the middleware version was up over 2... I will get the exact numbers tonight after work..

The box seems to respond somewhat faster since the update, but other than that i cant find any other differences. It would be nice if Comcast made some sort of announcement

I've got middleware v 2.2.17 — but I've never looked at that # before. When I've talked to techs about sw upgrades, they've always talked about the TiVo SW version, which for me is currently: "TE-1.0.5.2-0002.01.01.001"

And it's not like I'm not having problems. Every night something buggy happens. In fact the last few nights the box has crashed at about 12am, while first spewing something about the Emergency Broadcasting System.

I've just given up bitching about it. I'm not convinced Comcast cares about fixing it.

Well I still have 3 of these units but another one bricked on me last night. It won't do anything but display 1 channel, won't do anything else.

Crap, time to call the cable guy again.

I've got the new version too but don't see anything different. Anyone figure out what's changed?
