Hello all,

So i poked around a little, and it seems i am stuck with the slow record "speed" to DVD. and to single layer. The Tivo SW wont do doble layer of 8x speed.

Are there any plans for an HD Tivo with a burner? is there a current S3 with burner?

I am using my Humax without a cable box, i guess i will need a cable box ot digital to analog converter in Feb?

thx for any answers

DVD recording from a Set Top Box is a dead technology. If they wanted to record to optical media- it would almost have to be Blu-ray just because of the size of hi-def files. Everyone uses internal & external hard drives now anyway.

If you get a S3, in many cases you can transfer your SD and HD recordings (unless the content is copy prohibited by your cable carrier) from the S3 to your computer then edit/burn the files to optical disc.

Ok, so a Tivo with Blue-ray recorder? Or at least dual layer DVD would also be nice.

The transfer from the tivo to PC is too slow, and my network is very robust.

thx
