Is my TiVO HD new or refurbished? How can I tell?

I ordered a "new" TiVo off ebay and recieved it in the mail today. The problem is that it came in a plain cardboard box and it looks like everyhting inside has been repackaged.

It is the second TiVo I bought recently and the packaging inside and out all looks different. The first was bought was from a regular retailer.

Is there any way to tell?

Plain cardboard box usually means its refurbished. New Tivos have fancier retailer boxing.

I have only purchased refurbs and they both have come in plain cardboard boxes.

I ordered a refurbished unit directly from Tivo, and everything had new packaging. Nothing looked like it had been opened. I'll check tonight to see if the box was just cardboard.

I've bought two refurbed TiVos from woot.com and both were in plain brown boxes.
