recording freezes then reboots - help please

I have a series3 TiVo with an extention drive. The problem started recently. When I'm watching a recorded show it reaches a certain point, then freezes for 10-15 seconds and then reboots. It happens to selected recordings, and it's consistent, i.e. reboot always happens at exactly the same points.

It would be sad if it's a sign of dying hard drive.
Any suggestions appreciated.

I had the same problem with last weeks prison break. I had to deleted. Since then, I have noticed on two occasions that the TiVo reboots in the middle of a recording.

I also have the External WD drive.

This morning I unplugged the TiVo and the drive, replugged everything in and made sure it was a tight fit. I'll see if there's still an issue.

Anyone else have similar issues? Any ideas?
