Just to let everyone know that if you like Amazing Race and have a season pass to record it this season....
Make sure you ADD AN HOUR to record at the end of the show.
Why?
Because on SUNDAY's (When Amazing Race shows) CBS is NOTORIOUS for letting SPORTS (Football, Golf, Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, etc..) Run up to an hours OVERTIME....
When looking at the CBS sports schedule for Sunday from now until December. I see that their is a 99% chance that you will miss at least 30 min to the full hour of AMAZING RACE 13, if you don't add an hour to the end of your season pass.
Or in other words... Amazing Race 13 won't be starting on time & COULD POSSIBLY start up to an Hour later than scheduled.
Just passing this Info along to all the lovers of "Amazing Race"

Good tip. It use to happen to me all the time, when Shark use to come on Sunday nights.
I set up my Season Pass last night and did just that. I was reminded to do so because I lost half of my 60 Minutes recording due to football.

Yes, in ET/CT, it's almost guaranteed that it will start/end late, since many weeks CBS has a late football game on and when it does, that game usually goes past 7, or they switch to one that is still going on if yours ends early.

Thanks for the reminder!
BTW, this thread should be in "Now Playing - TV Show Talk" or "Season Pass Alerts." I only saw it because it was at the top of the "recent threads" list when I logged on.

Yes...absolutely post this in the Season Pass Alerts forum. And we appreciate the reminder; I just set my SP, but forgot to pad.
As noted in my own thread in the Alerts forum, since we also record cold case, we leave TAR alone and Pad Cold Case by an hour.
I actually stopped watching this show because of this problem.

Ah, Yes.... The Heidi Effect.
At this point, it's the 60 minutes effect. CBS refuses to cut into that show. They really need to do what Fox does and just have a postgame show that is always on from 7-7:30 and just start sunday prime time a bit later.

One of the few times when living on West coast is an advantage for scheduling purposes...
I'm excited that this is the 1st season shot in HD (as is Survivor).

Really?
I don't recall hearing that. It was speculated that since Survivor was switching to HD this season that Amazing Race would as well. However, looks like that didn't happen after all for Amazing Race (Survivor will be in HD):

Guess that means I should switch the season pass to the non-HD CBS channel and save myself some space (especially with all the football padding)

No, keep it on the HD channel. Survivor will be in HD. CBS says so right on the home page for the show: http://www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor/.

Agreed except it will forever be because of Heidi.

The Amazing Race is definitely NOT in HD. The producers said they were just happy to be renewed and currently had no plans to move to HD.
And I already set up my recording to pad an extra hour. I almost stopped watching CBD Sundays because of this, but I really like TAR.

Last Nights 60min 40th Aniversary show started them off with being in HD from now on! Woo hoo!
I have been bugging CBS to put survivor & amazing race in HD for 4 seasons now! (60 min too)

You can subscribe to the CBS Eye-lert (http://www.cbs.com/eye-lerts/), which will e-mail/text you on Friday with the possibility of there being a delay and on Sunday evening with the actual start times for each program.
{If only it would re-program the TiVo for me!}

My bad, I read wrong. Sorry for any confusion. You're correct, Amazing Race will not be in HD.

I can't believe how much stretch-o-vision they had for 4:3 content in that episode. Yuck. The weird thing is they had some 4:3 content pillar boxed, but most was stretched horizontally.
