I recently picked up a TivoHD to replace/support a tivo DT and had set it up using the QAM for HD with comcast in Southern NH. At some point this week comcast must have changed the QAM tuning as tonight the QAM channels were empty, so I went and rescan the channels, now instead of the networks being up in the 112's and 113's there are sub-channels of the channel ID (i.e. PBS 11 WENH is 11-1 WENH-HD, etc for all the broadcast channels) plus the info screen now shows the channel ID but no guide date.

I'm hoping this means comcast will keep the QAM channels locked in place, and maybe I will get some guide data for them in the future. Anyone else in the comcast world seeing this or have any idea if tivo will ever let me link the HD channel to the normal one for guide data? At the minimal it makes remembering what QAM channel is what easier.

The THD doesn't include guide data for clear QAM channels without the use of cable cards.

From the info in the link it looks like Comcast is sending the correct PSIP (Program and System Information Protocol) data now which is why the QAM broadcast channels are mapped to same channel as the OTA channel. And if this is true tivo could send out the populate the channel guide info if users convinced TiVo to.

This has been discussed and argued at length in other threads. Bottom line is that Tivo does not support clear QAM channels from cable systems because Tivo chooses not to. Simple as that. They have other issues they feel are more pressing or profitable to work on.

What about if you split the cable and connect it to both Antenna and Cable - then use your local broadcast lineup and only enable the QAM channels, then use your cable lineup on the Cable side?
