Well the producers must have come to some kind of agreement with Luke Perry, since Dylan was finally named as the big mystery father. I don't know how much longer they could have kept refering to him as "him" especially with Brenda and Kelli talking in private.
I am still not entirely sold on the show. One of my biggest issues is the adopted black son. Not that I have any issues with it, it just seems very awkward and very forced in the scheme of things.
I will leave this one to the ladies watching and whomever else feels qualified to judge, but it seems to me there is something wrong with two of the leading men on the show. They both seem to have somewhat deformed faces to me. One is whathisname who used to know whatshername but is dating/brokeup/dating whatshername still.
The other is the teacher with Kelly. (is it Kelli or Kelly?) Anyways, they both seem to have weird head-faceshape issues that come across to me. I am not really a good judge of male attractiveness though, so maybe it is just me, but are these two guys what you would consider attractive?

Didn't you watch Different Strokes? :D
Pretty sure it's Kelly. And Dylan still isn't a bad choice. Her history with Dylan was probably the most dramatic. But the "doing charity stuff" certainly sounds more like do gooder Brandon. Hell, even Nat reminded us about him in this episode. I wonder if the reveal scene was shot some time well after the rest of it??
Oh, nice mention of Donna and her baby. Nice nod to Tori Spelling and her kids. But it was somewhat interesting they just said Donna's baby and not Donna and David's.

Very interesting considering that, if the kid is David's, it's not just "Donna's Baby" but also Kelly's nephew.
David is probably going to have to come up at some point because, of course, Kelly's sister Silver is David's sister, too.
Speaking of unattractive people on this show, am I the only one (other than my wife) who thinks the actress who plays Naomi is not nearly attractive enough for the way she's cast as one of the most beautiful girls at WBH? If you still have the episode, watch her awkwardly walk away from her parents in the family photo scene. Things are weird when the guidance counselor is better looking than the most popular girl in school.

Exactly. I can't remember who brought up Donna's baby. Was it Brenda or Kelly
(can you tell we are talking about a NEW show and and not an old one?)

.
There would be no relation between Kelly and David's kid.
Kelly's mom and David's dad divorced. K & D are not blood related.

I've always thought she was weird looking and hot at the same time, if that makes any sense. It seems like her nostrils are flared all the time and her lip is curled up. She was on Nip/Tuck as the super-hot girl no man could resist and it just didn't seem right on that show either. I can't think of another actress that I'm so "hot and cold" about.
I like it. But it just can't grasp the "magic" of the original series. I like having Jennie Garth on the show. Works with just her. But as soon as Shannon shows up and they are both on screen, it doesn't work for me. It seems like they are trying to hard to be the old show, which they are not.

You won't have to worry about that much longer. I read the other day that Shannen quit already. They offered her more episodes and she declined.

To me, Naomi is super hawt. I don't recall the actess from other shows/movies. I don't watch Nip/Tuck. What else has she been in?

Legally, you're probably right. But I'd bet, unless something happened, Kelly still thinks of David as her brother.

Or at least maybe step brother. ;)
But basically, I agree with you. Kelly is "Aunt Kelly" to Donna's (and David's, I am assuming) kid.

I'm going to keep watching for now, but as more shows start and I have less time to watch, this one will probably drop to the bottom of my viewing list. It's not the original show and I enjoy Gossip Girl and Privileged more. To me, all three of these shows are virtually the same, just based in different areas of the country.

Good Riddance. She seemed disinterested in her acting. Oh well. Too bad for her.

(I can't believe I'm going to post this...)
I like Gossip Girl a lot better. This show can't decide whether it wants to be High School Musical cheesey (new girl goes from stagehand to star of the show when she happens to know the lyrics to a song in the school musical) or Gossip Girl tawdry.
I don't know if I can bring myself to not watch, though. It just brings back the memories...

Gossip Girl IS much better. But so far, I've only seen three episodes of 90210 and just ONE of Privledged (haven't seen the most recent episode of that yet. Power issues caused my recording to be chopped ip)

Nothing special from this episode. I think my wife and I will only keep watching because we grew up with original.
A couple of the characters (Annie and Silver) are way too skinny to be attractive.
And it's so strange to see Tristan Wilds in this show after watching him be so great in "The Wire". I feel bad for him as he acts through these goofy lines and scenes.

That's about where we're at in my house. Once everything else has been drained from the TiVo we'll get our 90210 fix.

Did anyone notice that scene with Dixon and Silver driving in the car?
It was so fake looking! This is the year 2008.

actually, you know what might keep me into the show?
an Amanda Woodward 6 episode guest run which turns into a permanent role, and she ends up sleeping with the principal, and the wife goes into depression and starts drinking, and we need nice guy dixon to turn into a womanizing ahole... and naomi has a crazy redhead sister from out of town that sleeps with ethan, and silver dies and comes back to life with no hair...
worked for melrose place, right?

How does this ep compare in quality to the premiere? I used to watch TOS when I was in high school (and enjoyed it) but stopped watching a few seasons before the show ended.
I tried watching the premiere, got through a little over an hour and over time kept thinking "boy, this is not the show for me." Maybe it's because high school was >15 years ago for me.
I'm not sure if I have the time to invest in a show that's subpar (to me) already...

They both feel very "issue of the week". Props for working them into the arc instead of making them one episode issues (as would have been done fifteen years ago) but it just doesn't feel like a smooth integration. TV on the whole is more sophisticated than it was when TOS was on the air and 90210 is somewhere in limbo.
The girls are all disturbingly skinny. I saw some trashy magazine piece comparing the stars from TOS to the stars now. I remembered them being thin, but the stars on TOS were around a size six. Now they're 0/2. Part of that is probably vanity sizing, but they are much skinnier. In a country where adolescent girls already have huge body image issues this is the last thing we need. :(
