Hope someone can help me. I have a Series 1 tivo. I just replaced the HD becuase it went. I got it from Weakness. When i did the initial set-up it dialed fine. When i went to call it in the next day it keeps saying that it can't connect or no dial tone detected. I put a phone on the line that i am using for the tivo and there is a dial tone. Also when it tries to call in my other phones will say line in use so it is actually using the line but after it says it can't connect if i pick up the phone all i hear is a sound like when the phone is left off the hook. Can there be anything besides a bad modem going on here. Please help.
thanks

thanksAlthough it appears to be a bad modem, why not check your dialing setup to make sure you did not inadvertently put in a pause code or something similar that may be causing the problem.

This sounds like the same thing that happens every once in a while with my Series 1, especially following an storm. Have you tried unplugging the TiVo and letting it restart? That has always fixed my problem. It has to be an unplug and restart. A restart from the menu won't resolve the problem.
