Records more than necessary

Hey, help a Tivo newbie here (my RTV finally died...)

Say I want to record O'Reilly Factor, once a day, just the new 'episode'. I set it to get the season pass, I set it to record first runs only but it still insists recording three of the same during one day.

Am I missing something? Am I doing something wrong? This happens with a few other shows as well. Can I just tell it to record so and so show, on so and so channel only at this time?

Go to Tivo Central. Go into "Find programs and Download". Then go in "Record by time, channel or VCR". You can figure it out from there.

This one is a notorious example of incorrect/incomplete guide data. TiVo errs on the side of safety and records extra episodes instead of possibly missing a recording.

Look around for threads that talk about this. The Daily Show is another example and probably the most discussed case of the multiple recordings.

Yup. Three shows that I have issue with are the O'Reilly Report, Coldbert Report and the Daily Show.
