Good show. I thought it was pretty funny when Brenda got carried out twice:D Didn't realize this was the season finale til the end, bummer. But good to have shows like this to fill the void until fall season starts.
Edit: Crud, just realized I got the year wrong, trying to fix

I really liked this season. I thought it was a big improvement over last year.

Enjoyable episode. Wondering if one character lives or dies isn't too bad of a cliffhanger.
It did seem like it took way too long for the people on the roof to decide on a head shot, and even harder to believe that that many seasoned professionals not be able to hit his head or a leg. If the producers just wanted to have another big boom they should have done something other than having Major Crimes look like the gang who couldn't shoot straight. They were lucky that the sheet metal A/C ducting was as effective as the kid's body armour.

It's not really the season finale. There are still 5 more to go but the decided to split it and have more programming later.

^ Thank you for that. I saw that it was coming back in January, which is cool and all, but the husband and I enjoy some Closer during the summer. I was wondering if they were going to shoot fewer summer episodes, or none at all, or what have you. Good to know we'll have more soon and next summer.
All the slow-stop camera work made it seem like they were up there longer than they were, but I was frustrated and then elated when Flynn finally started yelling "head shots!"

If Sanchez dies, I think Tao and Daniels will (rightly) be pretty upset at themselves for not being able to kill the guy when he was firing at people off the roof. I think the whole Major Crimes Unit needs to spend some serious time on the range...
Also, was it just me, or did the pipe bombs not seem very explosive? And I thought that the added nails, etc to the pipe bombs, but I didn't see any secondary damage when they exploded...

TNT called this ep the season finale, so I titled the thread the finale:D But 5 more eps next year (Jan?) is great news. Guess they consider that a mini-season:confused:
Yep, everyone in that squad needs to hit the gun range. How could they all miss him with so many shots??? Yeah, he had on a vest, but even if they had hit the vest it should have given him a jolt!

Maybe Det. Sanchez wants to spend more time with Catalina.

Loved this season! I thought virtually all of the episodes were interesting, a bit more complex than usual, and that Fritz and Brenda's relationship wasn't the focus of as many episodes. Great season and glad it's coming back in January.
Now, I'll have Dexter to watch between now and then, as well as some network TV (Desperate ones, Bros and Sisters, etc).

Good episode, Brenda seemed to be having a very bad day.
When they said it was season finale, my husband spewed a couple of four letter words. I always crap up at how upset he gets over cliff hangers. :)

It's been a solid "season" but this episode left me a bit cold. I loved seeing Brenda being carried out of the apartment twice and some of the usual witty banter.
But.
Seeing a recap of Sanchez's brother getting killed immediately led me to believe he was going to take a bullet. Either that or use excessive force. But when Provenza started towards the bag, it was predictable. The gunmen would shoot at him and Sanchez would save him by taking a bullet (or three). Oldest sequence in cop dramas ever.
And I totally agree. I'm not saying a headshot is easy but surely they could have hit his arms or legs or SOMETHING. Hell getting shot in a bulletproof vest still puts you on your ass especially when four officers are shooting at you. Four senior policemen at 20 feet or so away couldn't take out a gunmen? Major crimes needs some major target practice.
Hope they don't get rid of Sanchez. He rounds out the group nicely.

It was a bit of a stretch, but there have been incidents where officers have fired dozens of times without hitting a suspect at fairly close range. The average person forgets how the heat of the moment, adrenaline, and moving targets affect the ability to hit a target. In addition, the effective range of a handgun is much shorter than people might think.

in addition to 10 cops not being able to get his head, HE was a bad shot for not killing more cops on the roof with that weapon. Or thru flimsy AC ductwork. Ditto with a glass sign on the front of the mall.
I prefer more whodunnit and not so much shooting with this show. Brenda in the interview room is usually the best part of the show. And wouldnt they have searched the kids room and seen the pill bottle?

in addition to 10 cops not being able to get his head, HE was a bad shot for not killing more cops on the roof with that weapon. But he was just a kid working at a Home Depot store. You wouldn't necessarily expect him to be a good shot. It's not part of his job.
