DAN FTW!!!!
Surprised that it was 7-0 in favor of Dan, tho.
Angie got totally boned and didn't get to make any comments.
CBS, why don't you give BB the same treatment as Survivor and give us an hour wrap up show? They revealed the winner with 5 minutes left, then we get 2 minutes of commercials, they come back and reveal the $25 K, and that's it.
And why oh why couldn't they go another hour? Oh right, a REPEAT of Without A Trace at 10 pm.

I had Dan winning 5-2. I am really surprised that April voted or Dan.
My thoughts from the whole show:
I picked Dan & Memphis from early on. I liked their game play. Great job on Brian letting everyone know they never got personal.
I absolutely despise April. She is the most hateful player I have seen in a long time. Again, great job on Brian calling her out. Ollie, run for your life. She's not right for you!
I disliked Renny early on but she grew on me.
I disliked Libra during the game, but not in the jury house.
I liked Jerry early on and grew to dislike him as time went on. Good job Big Brother for showing his true colors tonight. He disliked Dan for using his religion, but he used the military to show his honor and then went against it. He's a hypocrite.
I am glad that Keesha got America's vote for $25k. That's who I picked. I liked her throughout the show for the most part.
Just like Dan got caught up in the moment when he "celebrated" too much when winning an HOH (which Jerry pointed out), Ollie got caught up in the moment with his rampage. I don't think either incident was indicative to who they were as people.
I'd like to go out for some beers with Dan, Memphis, Keesha, Renny, and Ollie. They seem like a fun bunch.

Did anyone else catch how short Jessie was? In the final scene they showed down the row, and he was next to Brian and Steven. At first I thought they both must be 6'5" but as you went down the line you see they were not excessively tall. It explains his bodybuilding desires in 2008. A bit of a Napoleon complex.
Also what was up with April? She defended Memphis at every turn at the questions and in the jury house and then voted for Dan? She looks ridiculous waffling like that.
Good to see the three people who came into the most money all were players I enjoyed this season. That is not very common it seems.

Well said. Brian's speech was fantastic and really put the contestants in there place. April was one of a kind. There are "evil" reality contestants, and then there is April. She is just a straight witch. I really wish they had shown April and Michelle the clip of them talking smack about Keesha. I get tired of Michelle's "what is he talking about?" looks.
Dan was a very deserving champ.

I had Dan winning 4-3... I thought Memphis had Jerry, April and Olie (I felt that whatever April was voting, Olie would follow)...
I was pulling for Dan almost the entire season (from week 2 or 3)... He had a huge target on his back with his alliance with Brian, and he managed to make it all the way... Nice!

it is an edited for tv reality show. she could have said nice things about Dan and we would never know it. the producers tonight with the clips they showed really tried to make it look like a very close 4/3 vote would be happening.
CBS really should add another hour for the finale.
I know the time was very short but not one mention of the hurricanes. hanna going close to NO could have effected Rennys family. And with Jerry and Libra living just north of houston and having Ike just rip through there, wonder if they have power to go home to?

A dominating performance by Dan. 7-0. I'm practically giddy that my first week fave won the thing. It was a very good season, I thought.
I love Renny, but she is literally crazy at times. Literally. Her brain has a couple of loose wires. That was an embarrassing entrance and speech. Reminded me of Nora Desmond in Sunset Boulevard. I know she was told she was America's favorite when she came out of the house and was fully expecting to get the AC prize, but when Memphis evicted Keesha it created a crazy mass of sympathy for her among die-hard fans. Add to that the opportunity to stick it to April by voting for her nemesis, and Keesha got the win. I hope she doesn't go off the deep end. (I mean the really deep end, past the somewhat smaller deep end she went over some time ago.)

I'm watching some of the after-party (or whatever it is) interviews on CBS. com. I wondered what the "act of kindness" was that Jerry said he was rewarding one the two finalists for with his vote. He said that every night before bed Dan would come into the room where Jerry was sleeping and say "goodnight, Jerry". Every night during their whole stay in the house. Even when they were fighting (or Jerry was fighting).
He also said he would have won the AC prize if the huricaine hadn't knocked out the phone lines in Houston where he is from. Maybe. Maybe not. I don't really care. As long as he didn't win.

I'm so happy these jury members just choked down the bitter pill and came to their senses. And I'm happy Keesha won the America's Choice $$.
I will say this for Memphis, he is half of the best TEAM to ever play big brother. He's a much more heartless and refined version of Boogie.
These two did what Chilltown failed to do TWICE....go to the end TOGETHER.

Thankfully Steven called Jerry out for calling Dan a Judas while he had previously done the very same thing. I thought Jerry explanation was as weak as his game play. I'm so glad he did not win the 25k although I thought Renny was going to win.
I am always taken back when the jury sees past the double crosses and votes for the player who played the best game.

How FAKE can April be... she says all that crap about Keesha, then when Keesha wins the 25k, April is all hugging her, and smiling. And Michelle, SOO LOONG. Stop acting like you don't know what they were talking about talking trash about April in the jury house..
April and Ollie are still together, that's why Ollie and Michelle switched seats. The came out in order of eviction, so the back row should have been Libra, April, Michelle, Ollie which they did come out that way, but then Ollie and Michelle switched.
nyny523
09-17-2008, 09:38 AM
I wonder if April and Michelle will watch the entire show and realize how horribly they came across. April is the biggest bitch ever. I could not get past Michelle's outburst about Libra and her mothering skills. Ollie is April's bitch - I almost feel sorry for him - almost. I think Jerry is too old to change his ways. I think Jesse was shocked that America hated him. Welcome to reality! This entire group was disgusted me.
And I think both Brian and Steven called it perfectly.

09-17-2008, 09:42 AM
Kudos to Brian and Steven for calling out the jerks of the jury. April just sucks at life. During the finalists' speeches, she said she enjoyed Memphis' speech more than Dan's. I think it was Keesha that noted that Memphis was skirting around the questions which I think was true. He gave more broad, generalized answers while Dan faced the issues straight up. I thought the vote would be closer, maybe 4-3...April, Ollie, Jerry for Memphis & Renny, Keesha, Libra, Michelle for Dan. The 7-0 sweep didn't really surprise me though after the eviction votes we saw this season.
I thought Renny may have had a chance to win the $25k, but I'm happy that Keesha did. Other than sympathy for his wife, I don't understand how Jerry was close to winning the $25k.
I think they should add at least a half hour to the finale, just to get some reaction from the winner and loser and from the jury to understand why they voted they way they did after the viewers were tricked to think they would vote otherwise. The finale to BB is almost anticlimactic. We need a little postgame show to further enjoy (or not) what just happened.

Are we really surprised that it was a unanimous vote??? I mean, the season was filled with unanimous votes. Did Dick get a unanimous vote last year???
I felt really bad for Angie. Why not give her a chance to say something...ANYTHING. Julie didn't even acknowledge her existance!
And what's with these people??? Are they that stupid...when Bryan called out April and Michelle for attacking Keesha's physical appearance April looked shocked like, OMG...I never said that! Do you people not realized everything you say is being video taped???

I'm really glad Keesha won America's vote and I thought she would.
I'm not sure a post show would work as well as it does on Survivor. Survivor has a break (around 3 months ? ) before they vote which gives time for the contestants to reflect on their time on the show plus they get to watch the show. On Big Bother the vote happens while they are still in the house and jury house.
Would be nice to see a show around 3 month's after the finalists get out of the house.

I loved the look on Memphis' face when he found out about Dan's trip and loved Dan's face when he found out Memphis was in an alliance with Michelle. You'd think the last few days since they've been alone, they would put everything out on the table.

They did, pretty much. Dan couldn't tell about the AP thing as part of his agreement. And he didn't tell about the trip, so Memphis would not be prepared for it.
Turns out the trip really didn't have much of an effect on Michelle, according to her. Basically, after their alliance was revealed, Memphis looked as dirty as Dan, and everyone was forced to vote on gameplay. Also, Dan was a much better socializer earlier in the game and actually had relationships of a sort with all of them before the game got in the way--so that helped him too.

I loved the uncomfortable answer Memphis gave when he was asked what he would have done had he won the final HoH competition... And Dan's response that he would love to know what he would have done... He didn't want to piss off Jerry (I think it was Jerry who asked the question), but I thought it really showed him in a poor light to Dan...

They really need to at least give us some post-win reactions from the winner and runner-up. All we get to see is a few minutes of frenzied hugging.
I guess the current method makes it easier to edit later, but I'd like to see the jury get to question the final two in person. The wrath everyone had for Memphis would have been even better to watch.

I agree. This drove me nuts all season. Jerry is just REALLY good at rationalizing it. "When I did it, it was because the house made me do it!" He even took that route in his speech way back in week 1. "It wasn't me, Brian - it was everybody else."
That was when I went from liking Jerry to thinking he was a weasel and nothing about his game play since that point redeemed him at all.
Dan played great all season, but his best move might have been in his final speech, when he said that he might have made a mistake, but the reason he did the Russian Roulette was specifically so that there would be hate for him in the jury house, thereby ensuring that Memphis still wanted to go to the final two with him. I don't know if this was in his head when he did it or if he simply made it up in hind sight, but I'm convinced it put a few of the fence sitters squarely on his side. He still probably would have won with four or five votes, but this is what made it the landslide it turned out to be. IMHO, it was possibly the best comment anyone has ever made to the jury on either Big Brother or Survivor.

TVGuide.com: You told the jury you did that to ensure that you were disliked so Memphis would take you to the end. I smell some teacher Dan rhetoric.
Dan: [Laughs] Did you ever see me work any rhetoric in the house? I didn't do that kind of stuff in the house, did I? [Laughs] I knew I pushed the limits of that roulette game a little too far. I got a little borderline overconfident, and I knew I had to put a strategic spin on it, and lucky for me it worked. I always prepared in the house, whether it was for competitions or speeches, and this was no different. I was able to cover my tracks a little because I did get out of hand, but luckily I had a chance to redeem myself in the eyes of the jury

CBS really should add another hour for the finale.
Or cut the first 15 mins of showing you what happened previously. Try watching the show if you want to know what happened. Also Sunday's show was a waste too. 1 1/4 hours right there.
I wish Angie got a chance to speak but, otherwise I think they covered most of it and it is done. I did notice that they did not ask the winners what they were going to do with the money like they did last year.
I am glad Jerry got squat. I think hated him even more then April.
April, Michelle and Libra were just jealous little #%!@ that couldn't deal with the fact Angie and Keesha were better looking. Had nothing to do with anything more then that. That was their game play to get the hotter women out. Instead of playing to win the money.
Last two seasons two guys formed an alliance and stuck it out and won. Didn't let other crap get in the way. I think most women would agree Ryan was better looking then Adam and Memphis was at least in better shape then Dan. But, the guys didn't play that caty nonsense. They played to win.
Maybe next season two women can do the same would be interesting to see couple of more mentally more mature women team up and play to win.

As soon as Jerry was eliminated from the final HoH, I said "Dan wins 7-0". He played one of the best games in BB history. I figured the jury would come to its collective senses and honor him with the cash.
In the post-grilling-session jury discussion, I'm sure the producers told every jury member to say both pro-Dan and pro-Memphis statements regardless of their true feelings, which could be edited to show conflict (like it did). We're always victims of editing, just like the contestants.

Thanks for the link. Interesting read. I think my favorite exchange was this:
TVGuide.com: You said you would play the game dirty if you had to and then go to confession. So, when's confession?
Dan: [Laughs] I talked to the powers that be at St, Mary's early this morning to make sure I still have a job, which I do. The chancellor is supporting me, and I just set up my three-hour confession time with him as soon as I get back to Michigan. It's going to be a long one, but I have a lot of support at St. Mary's. They said, "Is it a sin to bluff in poker and is it a sin to trap someone in chess? If it is, then Dan's a sinner, but if not, he was just playing a game." And that meant the world to me.
I've always wondered who nobody ever makes that exact argument to the jury in BB or Survivor.

Sort of but, not really. I guess I should have said two strong competitors. Renny really couldn't win much of anything. Plus her a Keesha were not on the same page when it came to Keesha trusting Dan and Memphis. Keesha was too close to Memphis for Renny's liking.
But, yeah something more along the lines of what Keesha and Renny were trying to do. Just someone with a bit more game then Renny.

I can't believe that Memphis let Dan come away clean on the whole Keesha thing. Memphis might have made the vote but getting rid of Keesha was a group decision by them.
I also thought it was funny that even after Keesha rained on Michelle's parade about already knowing about the trip, that Michelle tried again to get some satisfaction by telling Jerry but I don't even think Jerry understood what she was talking about.

Sucks about the car. Why would they be that stupid? If they didn't buy it because they wanted to wait to see which car (he got to choose between that and a mustang, right?) the HG would choose, they should have immediately bought and paid for it AFTER the luxury challange and Memphis chose it.
