As usual Ari is a jerk...
Nice cameo for Tony Bennett and Wahlberg too.
Go, go E with the script writers. Excellent having Carla Guggino back to look at. Yummmmmm. :D
Drama, also as usual, just too funny. Loved Tony Bennett's line about his mother never teaching him to not use such language.

I liked Giovanni Ribisi as half of the script writing/gun club owning team.

Wow. 2nd episode and I have yet to laugh this season. Moving story along but they seemed to be skipping over the comedy. Horrible season so far.
And the drama and French girl thing is annoying and not funny at all. Hopefully that is done and Drama can go back to being entertaining.

It seems to be over, now that they've gotten to the punch line (it was Drama, not the French girl, who was the controlling freak).

This was the first ep I've ever watched and I wondered what the draw was. (We are visiting people who have HBO.)

Well I still love it. I'm invested in the characters at this point and stuff they do and say just makes me chuckle.
I didn't recognize Whalberg, he looked really thin, perhaps also I can't associate him with golf.
so was that Leighton Meester's actual voice singing with Bennet or a voiceover?

I'm in this camp. Even a bad ep of this show is still fun. I'm just watching to see what happens in the story, so as long as there's something going on, I'm hooked. It will be interesting to see what this latest tension between E and Ari leads to, especially since Ari basically told Vince he was just a pretty face.

There are lots of actors who make millions having just a pretty face.

But Vinnie certainly doesn't see himself as one of them. Sometimes, the truth hurts.

I read an interview with her in Maxim and she said something like "I'm guesting on Entourage and I get to sing".

Or at least Lloyd running down the hallway.

That was hilarious.
I liked the episode a lot. It wasn't all stupid s*** w/ Drama or ridiculousness w/ Turtle. To actaully show some (pretend) Hollywood reality and show Vince getting both jealous and serious is a nice turn.

I just had a thought about what I think they might be setting up with E and Ari.
E has added Bow Wow and now these script writers (including Giovanni Ribisi) to his arsenal of clients. And they had Ari, who has mocked E ever since he hit town, tell him "I'll never do business with you outside of Vince."
I'm getting the feeling that E's gonna get a delicious moment where Ari wants one or more of E's clients badly for a project, and E's gonna get to tell Ari to F. off. (Or perhaps he'll use his clients as ransom to force Ari to get Vince on some project that will revive Vince's career.)
Just a thought.

I like it. And hopefully E is using Carla Gugino to screw over Ari, which will make it that much better.

So far this season Lloyd has been my favorite character by far. Ari used to make me laugh the loudest but ATM it's definitely Lloyd. Ari hasn't quite got it back (although the scene last week where he was saying he didn't want anyone to mention Richard Roeper to him, and he walks by a guy and throws his cell on the floor for no particular reason, was pretty funny).

I think that this season has been solid.
Nice to see Vince finally giving a rat's ass.
The scenes with Lloyd and Ari are ALWAYS gold.

"What, are you speedballing fairy dust?"
I had to replay that a couple times.

I'm surprised there hasn't been any mention of what could be the coolest bar ever, the combination gun range and strip club - "B*tches and Bullets".

I laughed a lot in this episode. I like Vince's philosophy- "never be the first, never be the last".

I really liked hearing Ari's honest assessment of Vince and his chances for making a comeback when he was talking to Mark Walberg. I'm not sure we have ever seen something like that out of Ari before.

Yeah - for sure. This show may not be as good as it used to be, but it's still fun to watch.

You're going to be in a small minority on that view. Drama is one of the funnier characters on the show.
It's even better that the actor that plays him, Kevin Dillon (TV star), is the (before this show, anyway) less famous brother of Matt Dillon (movie star).

What is the character age difference between Drama and Vince supposed to be? Kevin is not aging very well compared to the others and is showing every bit of the 11 years actual difference between him and Vince/Adrian Grenier (9 for Eric, 14 for Turtle). He is the same age are Ari/Jeremy Piven and still looks much older than him too.

Agree with aindik. Much of the comedy relief in this show comes from Drama. He's one of the funniest characters on TV right now (and part of what makes him so funny is that he's completely serious about nearly everything he says).

other than the lack of nudity, this show had everything...I thought this was a great episode...
at first, I thought the girl was introducing Vince to the other girl so they would have a threesome...but it was nice how Vince handled everything...

Vince is a smart guy: he's doing what "movie stars" do now: he'll date someone famous, get in the tabloids, and get the gossip rags buzzing about him.

It's nice how Vince handled everything? Telling a hot chick who wants you that you'll be back and then leaving her hanging? He could have at least told her it wasn't going to happen.
