HR10-250 or DirectTV's HD DVR

I just got a new 42" LCD 1080p TV for my bedroom so now I am faced with upgrading from old original DirecTivo.

Should I go with the DirecTV HD DVR or a HR10-250. I'm thinking I will probably upgrade to the new DirecTivo next year when it arrives.

How many HD channels do you want to watch NOW? A handful that may go away soon? Stick with the HR10-250. All of them that DirecTV offer now? Go with the HR2x series.

He's right. Content is king. If you can get the content you need, which will soon be limited to HD OTA and SD from the sat on the HR10, Stick with it. If you want any other HD at all, the HR2x is the only (DTV) way to go. Either option is typically a good experience, as the HR2x is now very competitive with the HR10.
