View Full Version : SAT-T60 fails to record every other reboot

I have an old SAT-T60 (DirecTV) that I've done the HD hack to two 120 GB drives many years ago and added the Turbonet ethernet card. Amazingly, this old unit still works (fingers crossed), but I do see some odd things.

As I understand it, each time you reboot the unit, it will alternate between two copies of the software. Well, when on one "side" I see sme strange things. After I get a bunch (10 or so) programs recorded, it can get into a weird state where it doesn't record programs anymore, or it will show that it is recording a show (red circle), but it is not and never ends recording (and can't be stopped).

I can power off the unit and then power it back on and it works like a champ.

Unfortunately, if there is a power outage, I have to figure out if I'm on the bad "side" or not (as it could have rebooted twice), otherwise it could be on the bad side and act up.

What I'm wondering is if there is a way to somehow "restore" the bad side?

I do have access into the unit via Telnet/FTP.

Any suggestions?
