Hello!
Upstairs we have digital cable from Shaw.
If we get a TiVo for the basement, will it just connect with basic cable, or the digital cable channels from the box?

In order to get those additional channels, would we need to purchase another shaw box to connect the TiVo to?
Im just a little confused on how the tiVo unit connects to the cable you currently have and to what extend it does if you are with Shaw?

Just wondering what everyone else does with Tivo and Shaw cable?

Thanks!

Without a box, it will get just the analog basic channels.
You can also get the digital channels with a box.
It does not receive digital channels itself (only the HD models do, but they need cablecards for that, which aren't available in Canada.)

A Series 2 DT Also has the option of receiving basic cable and digital from a box at the same time.

Shaw cable is really no different than most other North American cable providers.
