It appears he's a little dissapointed with the scripts.

I applaud that. Quality beats quantity any time.

The article headline gave me pause - until I read further down that they are already ahead of schedule, so this temporary script re-write shut down shouldn't effect anything - it's still scheduled and on target as a mid-season replacement.

Can't wait for this.

What's interesting is this script thing is almost identical with what they did with 24, and in that other thread, someone saw it as a bad thing. Is this a bad thing? :)

Another observation: andy, are you on a first name basis with Joss Whedon?

It sounds like it may be in more trouble (http://io9.com/5049071/just-how-in-trouble-is-dollhouse) after all.

We will just have to see. But, I will let myself get invested in this, even knowing there is the possibility that Fox will be stupid and idiotic again and pull it off the air.

But let's not be too negative yet. Let's give it all a chance.

Lamest website ever. Utterly unreadable in FireFox.

It looks perfectly fine to me with FF 3.0.1 on Windows XP.

What I'd like to know is why in the world Joss is giving FOX another chance to destroy something he's poured himself into.

Okay...I just looked at the "more trouble" link...

This got me-
"...some executives have expressed concerns that early episodes of the series have been confusing and hard to follow..."

They got a nerve. They run FIREFLY out of sequence, ruin the unfolding story and the show's chance to gather an audience, then cancel it after running the series opener LAST, and now they say one of his shows is "confusing and hard to follow"?

Bear in mind that the life expectancy of network executives is comparable to that of mayflies. There is almost no chance that a single person who had anything to do with Firefly is employed at Fox these days.

This isn't a Fox issue. This is a network executive issue. Network executive are terrified that Joe Sixpack will feel stupid and change the channel, so they don't want to do anything that might be smart enough to make a dumb person feel stupid.

It appears he's re-energized.

Saw a promo for "Dollhouse" during the World Series game Sunday night, so I guess Fox is now expecting Joss to be able to deliver something. (No specific debut date mentioned, just "coming soon.")

They should just release this straight to DVD and iTunes, and skip the whole cancellation and "burn in hell Fox" debacle.

Wow. I wasn't all that concerned by the temporary production shutdown, until I read that. It's never good when the creator of a show acknowledges that the network bought a different series than he intended to produce... but then he tries to make his series into their series. That's a recipe for disaster, because in the end not only do the creative visions not mesh, but in reality, what is the point to having Joss around if it's the suits running the show?

Edit: reading Joss' actual post, rather than the amplified translation of it, is somewhat more reassuring. If Joss is happy, I'm...

Still, it'd be nice to have someone like Fran and Kaz Kuzui (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as exec producers for Joss all the time, people who have enough faith in Joss to say "ok, we don't quite get it - but we know that it'll make sense in the end. Go to work."

Fine for me with FF 3.0.3 using Mac OS 10.5.5.
