Welcome page problems

Very new to this community. Bear with me please. I have a series 2 Tivo. I use wireless internet to hook up to tivo network. Everything was working fine till last friday. I took the tivo out of the video stream and turned it off. I wanted to watch PPV and needed a cable box. When I went back to hook up Tivo, three days later, it will not get past welcome powering up page. I talked to tech support and they say HD is Dead. Is This true? Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately, those symptoms usually indicate a HD failure :(
