As an example, my husband decided to cancel his webhosting rather than renew, and the company offered him a half price deal to stay.
My son has our 2nd original TiVo at college (we transferred lifetime to the new one last fall) and it's going to expire soon. We can renew for $100 for one year. But I was just curious if TiVo would offer us a deal if we let it actually expire.
