Is it true that Tivo can only address satellite receivers that use "000" as the remote control code? For too many reasons to explain, it would be great if I could have Tivo address my Starchoice DSR505 with a code other than 000 (for eg. 001, 002, 003 etc.) If anyone has a hidden trick to change the Tivo code, that would be great.
Any ideas?

As a general rule yes, the codes for systems which have multiple unit addresses, are the default address, which is 000 for Starchoice, 1 for Echostar Receivers.
Changing codes in the TiVo is not a particularly easy thing to do, especially if you have a newer TiVo (TSN begins with 5 or 6).
You may find it easier to adjust codes on other receivers, or use the TiVo on the one set to address 000.

OK, thanks. I think you're the only person in the forums who has both Tivo and Starchoice (we're a minority). hehe.
I guess I'll have to re-tool my concept. PS - do newer Tivo's have more flexibility?

As far as TiVo would be concerned, it would need the other unit addresses added to it IR database. All Series 1/2 TiVos use practically the same IR control software logic. The hardware is irrelevant. The HD models have no IR control at all.
