I have looked through the forums and cannot find any similar threads that have been posted recently.....
I have recently moved to Chicago from the UK and trying to get my head around the differences in cable. I live in an RCN-only apartment and I want to have a dual-tuner DVR, but not happy at paying the high rate for the RCN option.
If i get Tivo, will it work connected to RCN and will the dual-tuner work?
The RCN helpline weren't very helpful.......

As a cable provider, RCN is required by law to provide CableCARDS. A TiVo HD or Series 3 will provide the dual tuners you require. Depending on the type of CableCARDS that RCN provides you'll need wither one 'M' card or 2 'S' cards for a TiVo HD or 2 'M' or 'S' cards for a Series 3.
There's also the HD XL which should have the same CableCARD requirements as the TiVo HD.
Perhaps a RCN subscriber can share which type of cards they provide and any installation experiences they might have had.

As long as it is not a Direct TiVo your TiVo will work fine with RCN. However, many RCN lineups have gone all digital so if you have a Series 2 DT it then turns into a single tuner unit.

. . . . and will require the settop box supplied by RCN.
