tivo series 2 says you can record two shows at same time if one is analog and one is digital..in feb '09 it will be ALL digital..does that mean series 2 won't be able to record 2 shows at one time any longer? will we be able to watch one and record another?
thanks, voxpop

Assuming you are using cable (the dual-tuner isn't meant to work with an antenna, and will not get updated software to support the digital converter boxes), you will not notice any change in February. The February 2009 change applies only to over-the-air TV broadcasters.
If your cable system changes to a format that requires you to use a set-top box to tune the stations, the dual-tuner Tivo will only be able to tune one channel at a time, and you will loose the dual-tune ability. They can do this at any time, as long as they make the set-top box available for people with analog TVs, and it has no relation to the February 2009 changes.

If you have cable and are considering TiVo, I recommend you get a TiVo HD, which has built in digital tuners to tune and record almost all of your cable and/or antenna digital programming.
What classicsat said. Nice to not have any worries and the picture on an HDTV set is stunning.

As long as you can record, you'll always be able to record one program and watch a pre-recorded broadcast. That's been available since the Series 1.
For digital programming, however, the TiVo Series 3 or TiVo HD can't be beat.
