I have a number of season passes that have not recorded over the weekend and today. I also notice I'm getting TWO folders for the same show in Now Playing, this kind of indicates someone was screwing around with the header info.
Tonight, WEEDS, and The Closer did not record and for some reason they are not even in the Recoding History folder with a reason they did not record. I don't think either one is a repeat.
Am I the only one having this problem?

There's other threads suggesting a general SP problem on DTiVos. Haven't yet noticed a problem myself.

I went into my Season Passes, and I'd say about half had "No Upcoming" shows displayed. I don't recall which one it was, but one of the original SP showed no upcoming shows, the new SP showed 75.
Also some other weirdness, as I mentioned with the duplicate folders, now for some reason one of the shows in the original folder popped into the new folder, all the other stuff is still in the original folder.
My unit is zippered, and I have been getting a message about a possible hard drive failure, but I can't see how that would affect the SPs.

You most likely have older software. this seems to be happening on all DTivos with software prior to 6.4a. it seems that it was a planned change from DirecTV as their solutiom is to upgrade your software to the most curren release. The other alternative is to delete and recreate your season passes as new episodes are available.

I notice the same problem with my Manual Recording of the Daily Show creating a new folder. Thankfully, I went in and checked my season passes and I've had to recreate about half of my season passes so far and other than having to deal with multiple folders of some shows, it looks like I noticed before I missed any shows. I'm zippered and running 6.1 or 6.2, hopes this helps.

Regarding this issue, Dated 8/29/08 from DTV:
TiVO receivers require software updates to properly handle programming changes.
To operate as designed TiVO receivers require most current software.
If customer has old software:
Repeats will record even if customer sets for First Run
I-Preview and Showcases will not record
If customer has current software but Season Pass was set before receiving the new software
Some Season Passes may not record.
Note: not all Season Passes will have issues
Ensure they have the latest software.
Menu > Messages & Settings > System Information
If Missing Recording, but have the correct SW Version, go to the Season Pass Manager
Menu > Pick Programs to Record> Season Pass Manager,
Select title and “Cancel the Season Pass”.
After deleted, create a NEW Season Pass.
If customer does Nothave current software, ensure that DIRECTV DVR with TiVo is connected to phone line and making a successful daily call.

...If customer has old software:

If customer has current software but Season Pass was set before receiving the new software...None of these fit the scenario of old software, old SPs, yet programs not listed in TDL, and therefore not recording. I always EX-pect only what I IN-spect, and so was able to head off missing shows by setting individual recordings. Trust, but verify.

Huh? Kinda fit the fella who had to recreate SP's to make 'em work. It was just a copy and paste from the "scripts".

I have 3 HR20's, all my HR10's are long gone.... well, actually in my garage taking up space. I have hardly any problems with the new HR20's either even on the CE's. Other then DLB which my wife used all the time I'm not looking back .... until maybe next year to see what's offered. But all DirecTV is stating is that you need current software updates to resolve the SP issues ... which is no different then the "software of the month" from D*. Difference is, the HR20 updates don't require a phone line so everyone is forced to keeps up to date. The need for the phone line is what is holding the TiVo folks back from remaining current and fixing their issues.

My HR20 has totally screwed up. I go into the Prioritizer and it has like 10 shows as 1. and then 5. plus it doesn't find and record shows. The shows are in there and it says NO upcoming episodes even though they are all there. I rebooted it but still screwed up. Tried a new record episodes and it goes in as another 1. and says NO SHOWS even though I see them coming up in the guide. I guess I'll have to do a reset all and load it up again. Could the unit be defective or is it just the crappy DirecTV software on the HR20?
Oh and my HR10-250 has the screwed up Season Pass thing. No I haven't updated the software yet. I was hoping the local HD's would go up on DirecTV but they say they don't have a clue as to when it will happen. That's about all I use it for now.

Gee, I dunno...maybe because he gets accurate DTV inside information (thus his name) and has posted it here for many months?
Lighten up.

Yo dude (I always wanted to say that to someone)..... I didn't WRITE that I just COPIED it. Please don't blame the messenger. BTW, there is an issue with the older software and SP's .... believe it or not. So for those keeping the older software and not upgrading they will have intermittent problems. It's a KNOWN issue at DirecTV that was posted not too long ago.
As for my 3 HR10's in the garage ..... I still support a lot of them (no, not on my back) so my interest in them continues. I've been a TiVo user since 1999 but I'm not dumb enough to give up dozens of HD channels just to keep it. Wanna buy a couple?

just last week I connected and let my HR10-250 take a software upgrade after 1289 days. Went from 3.1.5e to 6.4a.
I have 3 recordings in the last few days that are not in the group folders with other recordings of those programs???
several other recordings went into the group folders just fine.
