subject says it all really :)
Has anyone tried getting remote access to TiVoWeb if their home PC is running Ubuntu? Not quite sure where to start really, I had it running under XP with orenosp, but have now switched both the home Desktop and Laptop over to Ubuntu (I know people say it's a limited Linux OS but it does the job for me and it's a lot quicker than XP and an awful lot quicker than Vista when you just want to boot up and browse the InterWeb)

I think it might be better to phrase your question along the lines of 'Trying to get access to TivoWeb via Ubuntu gives this problem' as I can't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to do it.

When I switched to using a Mac Mini as my home server rather than a windows PC I too was stuck without OrenoSP. I decided to work out how to do it using OpenSSH for security and Apache as the reverse-proxy. I wrote a guide describing how to do this on OSX 10.5 here (http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20080304022413775).
Although the paths for a Mac will probably be different than those used by Linux the principal should be the same, if your lucky Ubuntu will come with both OpenSSH and Apache pre-installed.
Cheers,
Ian
