I am curious if this new version will allow you to convert .TIVO files to higher resolutions. Currently, you couldn't convert HD programs at a HD level.

Try this: http://community.livejournal.com/tivolovers/688463.html.
Based upon their info, it appears Roxio Creator 2009 supports HD & they currently offer a free HD/BluRay PlugIn until the end of the month.

Widescreen burning of Tivo files is NOT supported in the Creator 2009 program. You can burn them, but they will be squished to 4:3.
This really stinks.

I havein the past and continue to have issues with Roxio products. Every version that i have had (since rel 5.0) has been buggy and not performed up to spec. The only reason that I continue to purchase it is that it is SUPPOSED to support .tivo files and be easy to use. After installing this piece of junk, I couldn't get it to open my old covers for my jewel cases. I have several dozen of these that I wanted to reprint. They told me there was no support for the old format! I work in software development and there is an expectation that it absolutely should be backwardly compatible. Then it wouldn't read the tracks from the disk I inserted. Each time they send me this "clean install procedure" i've reinstalled this thing at least 4 times! Now it won't even run the copy and convert module at all. It just hangs and max's out my cpu! I'm just about done with this thing and I'm looking for suggestions to edit tv shows (remove commercials) and burn to cd's/dvd's for personal use..Any suggestions out there????

I like the promise of this program. Right now, promise is all it is.
What I want to is burn some high def programs onto a plain old DVD (AVCHD) or a true blue blank blu ray disk, though doing that very often would probably break the bank at over $10 per disk.
I bought this program (download) a few days ago. I've yet to make it do anything at all. First there was a buffer overrun problem.
Roxio advised me to be sure DirectX 10 was up to date and to upgrade my video driver. I did all that.
Next there's the matter of using msconfig to stop everything from loading at startup. O.K., did that too.
It's still not working. At all. Not burning a disk, not burning an iso. The error this time is VideoWave11 has stopped working. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. As if.
As a side note, in the extremely few times Windows found some sort of "answer" to a program hang, crash, or fault like this VideoWave one, Windows never, ever notifies me of anything beyond a request to spend more money on a possibly futile upgrade in the fool hardy hope that theirs or someone else's new and improved super duper upgrade will do what I want. Hey! What about the version I have now?
So now I get to call Roxio tomorrow and have another go around with a tech support person with no answers.
