I'm half way round the world so helping them out with technical problems is difficult but from the sounds of it my parents TiVo has stopped making daily calls. It's got a cachecard in it and was connecting via homeplugs to my father's router. He can still ping it, telnet to it, etc. but my guess is it's failing to see the outside world. From memory I think his IP address is fixed at 192.168.1.200. I've mailed him for more info but my guess is that he may have beefed up his firewall on his router and perhaps now the port TiVo usually connects to the server on is blocked? Does anyone know what port numbers need to be free and open for TiVo to connect?
It may not be that but knowing my father, that's my first guess! He will be mailing me back some more info later on but the other thing I was going to get him to try would be manually re-assigning the default gateway... I have a Phillips out here in New Zealand but from memory on a Thomson isn't the command something like this:
route.tivo add default gw 192.168.1.0?
