Does anyone have an extra directivo they are looking to get rid of? My parents unit just died and they are looking for a replacement. I would rather not put them through learning a new directv dvr unless i have to. PM me if you have one you are looking to get rid of. I have checked out weaknees and that is a last resort as they are short on money.
Thanks

Are you looking for series 1 or series 2 boxes?

probably series 2, i dont want to get them something and then have it break a few months down the road, or not be usable.

DirecTV will activate any DirecTivo that was previously owned and not leased. If you have a previously leased unit then they won't activate it.
FYI - if anyone is looking for either a series 1 or series 2 DirecTivo I have quite a few on hand that I'm looking to sell. I switched to FIOS over 18 months ago and they've been sitting on the shelf waiting for me to put them on ebay. All of my DirecTivos have had the hard drives upgraded to larger capacities. I also have new remotes for most of them and origianl remotes for the rest. Some have original boxes but all will be packed extremely well for shipping. I own all of these units outright so there should be no issues getting them activated.
I've got Philips DSR6000's, Hughes HDVR2's, Philips DSR704's, Sony SAT-T60's (one without remote), and a Samsung (I forget the model No.). I've also got a GXCEBOT without a hard drive for parts. I also have a Philips HDR112 with the 1.3 software that allows you to do manual recordings without the Tivo service. If you need cables or other accessories with them let me know and I'll see what I have on hand.
Send me a PM if interested.
