Hello, I have a Directivo Hughes SD40. It has a modified drive (300g) on 6.3a I believe. Recently on Fox Sports net (692 in Los Angeles).. during commercials only, the picture is jumpy kind of like vertical hold on older TV sets. Sound is fine when this happens. Once it goes back to a regular program, it stops, next commercial it starts again. We also notice it on Channel 5 (the WB in Los Angeles) during both commercials and regular programing. We have not noticed it on any other channels. I have searched the threads here and have tried the following:
Used coax, composite (rca), svideo independently, switch both SAT cables, used just one cable, etc., the problem does not go away. It is definitly in the Tivo because I can replay it back and certain things happen in the same spot. My typical setup is Svideo to a rear projection Mitsubishi and coax out to a kitchen TV.

I checked my other regular receiver in the bedroom and it's ok on that TV. I have a round dish w/ dual LNB and an 8 way multiplexor (only using 3 ports) all installed by DTV. This has all worked fine for the past year until recently.

Any ideas? I might say hardrive but I am not sure why I would not see it on any other channels.

Thanks
Fixit.

It happens to me on CNN, It is not your fault, it is Directv's fault by attempting to fade into commercials and doing it to slowly, Just ignore it.

I'm going to check out CNN and see if it happens there too. If it does not, I would think that its not Direct. You would think I would see this on my other boxes (non DVR's too) but I don't.

I would like to ignore this but when it happens during a regular program all the time on the WB, it's annoying.

Also.. on FSW.. although regular programs are ok, for the commercials, it does not happen on all commercials.. just certain ones.

Ok.. now that I see what is going on w/ CNN, my problem is a little different.
On CNN the pictures freezes for a second and the sounds stops too during commercials.... or during transition from one commercial to the next. I have seen this on my standalone DVD Toshiba Tivo hooked up to a Sony Directv Plus receiver. Don't remembr the channels I see it on w/ that equipment but it does behave like on CNN.

Let me explain my problem a little differently. The video on my DirecTivo "flickers" then rolls a frame or two vertically on the channels I described previously and the sound is not affected. Not only is this during commercial transitions but for the duration of the entire commercials.
