archos 605 better than 320 by 240 format?

I am stuck and need your help please.

Here is what I am trying to do;
I want to use tivotogo to batch recorded files in a portable format on my HDD then transfer them to my Archos 605 without conversion; just drag and drop.

I am recording HDTV content.

I can get and move 320 by 240 no problem.

I would like to convert the content as close to native as possible; 800 by 480. I saw a hack on the older SW, but can not find it for the new SW (tivotogo)

Any recommendation on the tivotogo format (portable) to use. I am using the ipod formant right now.
