My old HDVR2's power supply died on me and I'm going to go ahead and try repairing myself using the instructions here: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Repair-a-Hughes-HDVR2-Tivo-Power-Supply/
(It appears to be the same problem by the look of my capacitor)
Before I pay $7 in shipping for a pair of sub-$1 parts, does anyone here know of a place to go in the DFW area (preferably mid-cities) that sells circuits like radio shack used to? I may give Fry's a shot, but would prefer somewhere a little more knowledgeable.

You can order capacitors and such from Radio Shack's web site for home delivery or to your nearest store.

The one in the article is pretty good. When I needed parts last time... I just over purchased because of the shipping price. So, I really only needed one and purchased 10 (not the same part as yours), shipping did not cost any more for 10 or them.

They're in the DFW area as well. They are located in Mansfield, TX.

At I35E north of 635, you can find Tanner Electronics. Great people, great prices.
