Hello, I have a seriers 2 tivo dvr and a direct tv receiver. the direct tv receiver does not have a serial port on the back. I'm using the IR cable from the tivo and placing the tips of it in front of the direct tv receiver and when I go thru guided set up, its not changing the channel. I've called direct tv ( they don't support stand alone tivo's) I called tivo and was told to use advanced set up and try all of the IR codes (which there are more than 50) and nothing is working. I have 2 Tivo's in 2 seperate rooms connected to the Direct TV receiver. Neither one is able to change the channel. I've tried building an IR tent and no luck. I've had my Tivo's for a while now and prior to movning, they worked just fine with the reg set up on the old direct tv receivers that I had. I have new direct tv receivers since moving and after going thru guided set up, i can't get the tivo to change the channel on the new direct tv receivers. Direct TV are the manufactors for the receiver and I know the normal ir code to use is 10074. Any suggestions. I"m not happy and missing all of my shows. I called direct tv and asked for a new access card so that I could use my old direct tv receiver, which they charged me $20 to send out a new card. I'm goign to try my old receiver and see if I still have the same problem..which I hope not, since they were working fine until I moved. Any other options on getting the tivo to change the channel on the direct tv receiver?
