I have two Directv TiVo boxes. I just discovered last night that they are Series 2. I have thought this whole time that they were series 1. I have understood that with Series 2 you could connect to the wireless and transfer shows to your computer and to the other TiVo. My software is 6.4. I went online and tried to update to a later version so I could use wireless and get the Kidzone for my kids. I was told I had the latest version, but I know that is not true. It says there is a 9 point something version and mine is 6.4. Does anyone know if it is possible to update my software? I have Phillips brand Directv TiVos. Thanks

You have the lastest for a DTivo. The 9.x is for standalone tivos. If you want to hack to get MRV first you will have to go back to v6.2a as in the 6.4 (maybe 6.3) they took it out. Check out the 'Zipper' thread in the underground

The DirecTV TiVos do not support any of the networking features offered by TiVo, nor Kidzone. There are some things you can do with a "hacked" (internally modified) box, but I am guessing that you are not interested in that.
