Alright, here is my situation:

I have the TiVo HD, had it for about a week before installer came. Ran guided setup and have the latest update and all. I have the COMCAST Digital Preferred package, with HD and HBO.

So, my Comcast Scientific Atlanta box gets all my channels fine. Also, with the cable running through the TiVO with no cable card, I get the basic analog channels coming directly through the cable, but of course, all the HD channels and HBO need the cable card.

So, cable guy comes, brings a brand new Scientific Atlanta MultiStream Cable Card, pops it in slot 1, gets to the cable card setup screen, calls into the dispatch, relays the info, and vwala—we only get the basic channels! After two hours of trying things with the dispatch, we only end up getting local HD channels and 1 HBO channel. But channels like MTV, Food Network, etc (both std def and HD) are not coming in. Just the gray screen.

The guy ended up leaving me with the cable card and box and scheduled another installer to come on Saturday. I tried calling Comcast myself and relayed the serial number, host ID and Card ID of the cable card, but still got the same results.

Anyone have an idea what is wrong?

Thanks!

This is a duplicate post of your post in the "Help Forum".

I would either delete one of these or delete both and move your post to the "Official Comcast Cable Card" thread.

What does the conditional access screen say?

The conditional access screen says "SubExpireTime: Mon Jan 1, 1996 12:01 AM" --- should this be current, a la 2008?

On the Cable Card CA screen, it says "Status: Not Staged" when it should say "Ready"

On the Cable Card CP, it says "Auth Status: 'Waiting for CP Auth'" when it should say "CP Auth Received"

Lastly, on the Host ID screen, it should say "Type: One way Auth Received" but it just says "Type: One Way"

Do you have any of these similar screens? Any ideas on what this means I should have the cable tech or phone rep look into?
