Ok..I have a couple of Philips DSR708, they were both purchased at the same time. That was 5 years ago. The one I use the least started blacking out about two weeks ago, and would start it's powering up sequence...it did this for about three times a week until yesterday. It doesn't do nothing now. I have really good signal..in the high 90's, altho that really doesn't matter... What I want to know is: Who repairs these machines, and if replacements are still available. I got a really good deal when I bought them..$50.00 for both.
I know it's is going to cost more now, but I would like to spend the least..Any suggestions???

It probably just needs a hard drive replacement, which is easily done. See the forum sponsors for info.

Hi...and thanks. Now I know where to send my broken DVR for repair...Thanks...I thought about up-grading the Hard Drive, but decided against it, with the possibility there is something wrong with the unit besides the Hard Drive.
When they contact me or when I recieve it back...I'll let you know what was wrong...again thanks.:)

If it is the hard drive, have it replaced with a larger one... 250Gig are cheap these days
And, if you have the hard drive replaced, you might want a new cooling fan at the same time, since the case will be open
