The next episode of Root of All Evil, "NRA vs PETA", will not record automatically. The data doesn't have an Original Air Date and the Scheduler isn't doing the "Daily Show" lack-of-data-thing.
Manually schedule it if you want to see it.

The guide data on my mythtv system (which uses tribune...the same source as tivo) had last week's initial episode listed as NRA vs PETA, and only the replays were correctly listed as Olympics vs Drinking. Any chance you had the same problem last week, which caused it to not actually record this week (because it thinks it already recorded it)?

Actually, last week I ended up with two copies of Olympic games vs Drinking games, both of which seemed to have good guide data, including correct episode numbers and original air dates... one of the copies was of the initial airing.

I'll bet the reason you had 2 was because at the time they recorded, one had the wrong guide data. TiVo will go back and correct the guide data on a show already recorded even if the new data comes in at a later time. It probably fixed it before you even saw it. What I don't know is if that also corrects your recording history, to ensure it will catch the mislabeled show.

I was wondering why I never got this episode. Hopefully they'll repeat it.

Yeah, I hope they do a marathon of it, just like they did for the Gong Shows & the reality show spoof (though I forgot to pad the reality show runs, so each is missing a bit on the ends.)
