Big Ten Network was added here where I live today, but for some reason my Tivo isn't picking up any of the channels. It's on channels 65(analog), 255(SD), and 256(HD). On one of the TVs here that is an old analog TV, 65 is showing BTN, but on my tivo 65 is still showing the channel that was previously there. The SD channel is also showing the channel that was previously there and the HD channel says it is not available. Is this something to do with the tivo, maybe SDV, or something else? I can understand maybe the HD channel not being there but not the SD one too. This is strange.

I just checked the digital box from Comcast that we have and all the channels work fine on there, so this is definately something to do with the tivo. Any suggestions?

Hi,
On a lark, I went to Messages & Settings -> Settings -> Channels -> Channel List and it was available on all three channels 65, 255, and 256. However, none were selected. Might be worth taking a look.
As of 11:30 PM, there isn't guide information available though.
Hope this helps.

A series 3 TiVo is a digital cable reciever, and will take the digital version of a cable number over an analog version of the same number when recieving through a CableCARD. So, if a local cable system sets up an analog feed of BTN, but forgets to change over the digital equipment, their system will not offer that channel to your TiVo. Call your cable company, it's not TiVo's fault.

Where do you live? I am in New Castle, IN and receive from the Anderson headend. Both of my Tivos, one with and one without cablecards, received BTN channels and guide info as promised.
When you say you are showing the channel that was previously there (NatGeo?) are you saying the old channel is visibly present or the old guide info is showing up?
Sometimes if Tivo hasn't connected to download current guide info after they throw the switch, you will see old info for 24 hours or so. On my headend, the digital channel and HD channel were turned on a few hours before the analog channel. If the digital channels are not showing up, perhaps your cablecard channel map has not yet updated. I am not sure if there is a way to force that other than possibly rebooting. My transition all worked flawlessly.

Well, as of today it is working. It took an extra day for the tivo to work I guess. What was happening was this though. Channel 65 before the 15th was the Hallmark Channel and channel 255 was Fox Business Channel. On the 14th, the tivo added 3 new channels, all the BTN ones and had the appropriate guide data for each channel. So even though 65, 255, and 256 were showing the guide data for the BTN the channels for the BTN weren't being shown. Then when the other boxes in the house got the BTN and my tivo still had the old channels in that spot, it got confusing. Why would a comcast box have BTN on channel 255, but the tivo have Fox Business on 255 at the same time?

Got the PTCM message that 801 was added as "BIGPENN" network here in the Philly 'burbs, but it's not working yet. I'm Comcast, but switching to FIOS next week, so it's not a big deal.
