I need to use my TIVO Humax as a tv and dvd recorder, I'm in South America and I can not get a suscription (no phone numbers for this country). How can I use my TIVO as a VCR recorder? Thanks for your help

Buy a lifetime subscription for it, connect through the Internet and give it a US address. All the guide info will be incorrect but you should then be able to use it as a manual DVD/DVR recorder/player.

It needs a subscription, and you can get one (it might take some doing though). You just cannot set it up for providers outside of USA, Canada, or Puerto Rico, and must use your internet connection.

IMHO, you are better of selling it to somebody that can fully use it, and getting a DVR more suitable to your "foreign" market.
