I have had my TiVo since the beginning of TiVo. It has always worked fine with my Dish Network receiver. I just got a new LCD HDTV and now Tivo will no longer change channels. I use the IR blasters and have tried every code. I did get it to work using 10001 fast the other morning but now it is unresponsive again. I didn't change anything between the tivo and satellite receiver, I just unplugged the old TV and plugged in the new one. Any suggestions? Is this a TiVo thing or a Dish Network thing?

Why would either setup affect the channel changing on the TV? The TiVo remote chenges the channel on the TiVo, and can be set up to power the TV on/off or change the TV volume. I'm unaare of anything with the TiVo remote that chenges teh TV channel.

I'm voting that your setup is incorrect.

From what I remember there are two different settings...one is to get your TIVO to change the channels on your digital box, sat receiver...the other is to use the codes on the setting so your TIVO remote can change channels, change tv input and change volume.

I believe what you are asking for the latter. You need to go to settings and where they have changes to your remote...look up your tv and change the codes their. Unless your model of TV is identical this would need to change this so you could change channels with your TIVO remote.

Hope that helps!

Hope that helps! But in that arrangement (no cable box), the channel is tuned on the TiVo (as stated in pdhenry's prior post). It sounds to me as if the TiVo is set up for a cable box when one is not being used (ie TiVo is trying to select channels by controlling a non-existent cable box) OR is set up for no cable box when one is being used (ie TiVo is attempting to select the channel when only one is present - the one the cable box has tuned). In no case does TiVo select channels on the TV.

Bottom line - recheck TiVo's setup.

It could be IR interference originating from the new tv, try tenting up the Ir blaster to the dish receiver, so the only signal reaching the dish receiver is over the IR blaster.

Thanks for the replies. I know for a fact taht my setup and settings are not incorrect. I didn't change anything and have been using it with no problem for years. All I did is swap out the tv and change the TiVo remote code so it could control the power and volume to the TV. I tried all the IR codes and got one that works once in a while. In fact over the past few days it's worked about 50% of the time. When I say it won't change the channels, I mean that when I try to change the channels with the TiVo remote, the TiVo bar at the top of the screen changes channels but the actual channel itself doesn't change. I'm not talking about the TV channels, because the TV just stays on channel 3. (Hope that makes sense.) So I guess the problem is between Tivo and Dish, right? I like the interference idea. I do have the IR blasters right by the satellite box but since that is right under the tv, where the sensor is, that could be doing it. I'll try the tent idea.
