Is anyone available around Seattle to help me upgrade my Series 1?
I can pay.
I'd like to add a network adapter that I already own. And I'd also like to swap to a bigger HD.
Please let me know.

thanks!

For the network adapter, open the tivo and plug it in. Then add ,#401 as a dialing prefix.

Really? Awesome. I thought I had to reformat the HD with a new firmware to get it to work. Badass. I will do it tonight.
To be clear, add ",#401" as the dialing prefix, right?
As though it were turning off call waiting or something?
Thanks!

That's all there is to it assuming that your network adapter is a TurboNet card. If you are using the wireless AirNet it is a little more complicated than that.

It is a wired adaptor. So hopefully that'll do it.
I love my old series 1 Tivo. I use it in the bedroom now on a smaller TV and it works great, and I bought the lifetime subscription all those years ago.
I don't have a hard phone line anymore though, and I have to physically move it to get it to dial in. I can't wait to try this out. That adaptor's been sitting around for a while.
