r10 Audio Dropout

I've searched the forums, to no avail. My old DirecTivo R10 has started suffering audio dropouts on all recorded programing. It is not in the signal, as when dropout occurs, rewind doesn't produce same results. I've tried powering down and back on, switching to coaxial/component, dolby digital/dolby digital to PCM, nothing fixes.

Anyone have an answer on how to fix this problem?

Does this also happen with the analog audio outputs, or just the digital audio output?

No, only with the digital out. For now I'm watching thru the VCR!
