Log into your TiVo account than goto Change Service Number and change from the old TiVo service number to the new Service number..problem solved. (Will not work if you have Lifetime Service but you said you had a 2 year contract)

Thanks a lot trying it out now!

Just a note:
The online transfer page implies that transferring is only allowed under specific circumstances, but elsewhere on the TiVo website they clarify that a service subscription can be transferred to another TiVo box at any time. I think the language on the transfer page (only alowed within 30 days of activation, etc.) actually only applies to online transfer of a lifetime subscription.

Well thanks a lot guys, it worked like a charm. Although I guess my original TiVo was never broken. Heres the problem I am having, it is very weird. When I try to change the channel, sometimes it takes like 10 seconds for it to happen. And if you constantly hit something like the up or down, or even numbers, sometimes all it once (with about a 10 second delay) it just goes crazy. I originally thought it was the controller, it is not. I try my cable box controller on the cable box, SAME THING! I started running out of options so brought this. The weird thing is, it will work great if I put the remote like 2 inches from the TiVo "eye" just like it use to work perfectly before yesterday!!! There must be some kind of interference or something, this does not make sense to me at all. I doubt anyone here would have a suggestion I haven't already tried, but if you have one please throw it my way!

Thanks again!
~Scott

PROBLEM SOLVED! There was another remote under the couch with a button being held down, working smooth as butter again :D
