When setting up a Season Pass for Kids Programs (Ex) Sponge Bob Square Pants I get up to 5 or 6 recording of the program per Day even tho I have the option set to record only First time Programs. It still records repeats of the program.
Same thing occurs with Monk,Stargate and so on. Any suggestions on how to stop this. Tivo seems to ignore First time recordings even tho Parms are set for 1st time recording only.

TiVo has to rely on the TV listings correctly showing that a show is first-run or a repeat. If Tribune (the data supplier) doesn't get that information from the network or doesn't program it correctly there is no indication that the show is anything but first-run.
So TiVo errs on the side of caution and records any shows that don't explicitly say repeat.
You can get involved by sending mail or email to the networks asking them to send correct program information to Tribune and you can contact Tribune asking them to check on their program listings to make sure everything is setup right.
You can also contact TiVo and ask them to help but I have found that contacting Tribune or the networks directly is the best way (although it doesn't always get you anywhere).

This is a long running issue with how TiVo chooses to handle shows that don't provide proper complete guide data. Basically if the TiVo can't be sure from the provided data that the show is a rerun it record it "just to be safe".
Which can be annoying for shows that constantly fail to provide correct guide data.
If you do a search for 'The Daily Show Problem' you should be able to find various suggestions for how to try to deal with this problem. (The Daily Show on Comedy Centeral is a frequent offender in this regard).
There are some tricks you can do with the new wishlist functionality which are said to work quite well at dealing with this.

The good news is that once TiVo sees the description of a show (again, there may not be one if the network doesn't provide it), it won't record it again for 28 days unless you specifically ask it to.
