hello,

i have a series 2 DT, and a series 1 single tuner.

the DT is wired to my network, and the single tuner connected wirelessly.

i have the latest version of tivo desktop installed on this computer, and i have
both tivos set to allow transfers, and have enables video downloads on both.

my problem is transferring shows from 1 tivo to the other.

when i go into the now showing section, i "see" the other tivo, but when i select that to view the shows, it says there are no recordings on that tivo.

doesn't matter which tivo i try this on.

what do i need to do to be able to view shows on one tivo that were recorded on the other tivo?

thanks

Series 1 TiVos don't have the capability to send or receive transferred shows. That ability started with Series 2.

my mistake, i guess its a series 2, but is a single tuner. :o

they both show up in my tivo desktop, and are seen in each others now playing list.

The next step is to log into your account at tivo.com and make sure transfers are enabled on both units.

No idea. TiVo desktop has nothing to do with the problem as you don't need that to transfer between TiVos. It sounds like you have everything set up so that it should work. I don't even know if restarting both TiVos would change anything as they can already see each other, so they are both connected properly to the network already and are recognizing each other. Maybe PM one of the TiVo guys that hang around the forum and see if one of them has any ideas. I'm stumped.

Did you recently add one of the TiVos to your account?
If so it could take a few days for them to start sharing info.
When I got my second TiVo a few years ago the CSR said it may be as long as 48 hours before MRV comes online, something to do with TiVos databases.

both tivos have been on the account for over a year.

anyone?

I had the same problem, I recorded some stuff to test out the feature and it always said no recordings on the other Tivo. I went to bed and got up the next morning and they all showed up, I would try rebooting both of them and see if that clears it up. I know they have been on your account for over a year, but I think it takes some time after you hook them up to your network. I have a total of 4 and they all show up perfectly but when I would hook up a new one on the network it seemed like it took a day or so to see the recording. Sometimes forcing a few calls to Tivo solves a few problems

+1 on the rebooting of both units. Just like with Windows computers, sometimes a reboot resolves problems that you didn't think would be fixed with such a simple thing.

you were right! thanks.

what is so weird is that both of these tivos have been restarted at least 3 - 4 times over the last year...... mostly because of power outages.

had a brief outage today, just long enough to make everything have to restart...computers, tivo's, etc.

just checked the tivos, bingo! everything is showing up fine.

ii appreciate all of your help.
