dtv2 always asking to dial

I have a dirct tv hdvr2 evrey time i try to record i get the me message you must dial in before u can use the recording , the reciver does work all but the recording.

It does have the 3.1 software as i am in canada i can not dial out
any ideas? is there andy type of phone blocker software or if i installed diffrent software upgrade. thanks

still i dont understand i have read many threads, my hdvr 2 keeps asking to dial out and i cant as im in canada. how to by pass this if possible as it will not let me record untill it dials out thanks in advance:confused:
