I Have a hdvr2 reciver it still has the 3.1 software in it. the reciver works but I can not record on it or Schedule recordings on the net ,it always askes to dial in to dtv as im in canada I can not do this I have subscribed to the dvr service,
is there any way to do a upgrade as dtv says you need the 6.2 software? or is there any way to by pass the dial up
thanks in advance

You can purchase instantcake from DVRupgrade for $20.00 US, that will allow you to upgrade to 6.2a. It is an image you can place on any Pata drive but it will not save any of your shows :)

You should be able to record with 3.1 if you have DVR service. 6.2a will not allow remote scheduling over the 'net. You would need 6.4a for that feature.
But, if you can't record, it sounds like you don't have the DVR service on your account.
