I apologize for not getting this posted last night, I totally forgot. That, and I went to bed at 8:30. :p
"Free Mars!"
- Hey, it's Mr. Takagi from Die Hard! Oh, not for long.
- Mmmm, Adrienne Barbeau.
- Michael Beck, too! When I was a kid I saw a TV movie called Chiller, which I *just* found out was directed by Wes Craven. It was probably a terrible movie but I remembered him from it.
I haven't rewatched this yet (this seems to be a recurring theme with me), but it's one of those episodes that I remember pretty well. It's funny, I don't consider it one of my favorite episodes, but it sticks with me all these years later.
I guess I just found it particularly intriguing and a tad creepy, reliving the moment of your death over and over. That and watching Adrienne Barbeau over and over. :)
Anyway, dig in guys.

Actually the title is "Spider in the Web" no A in there. But I enjoyed it and it does continue the little bits of information we get about things out side of B5. in this case the Mars issue that we've been hearing about for while.

And the plot drags on some more...
Ms. Winters likes to wear gloves too. Maybe her and G'Kar could form a Glove Club. Or maybe it's just fashionable for ladies to wear gloves in the mid-23rd century.
Awfully convenient that Sheridan knew so much about the Lazarus project, and that one of his "hobbies" is keeping track of secret organizations.

Touching a telepath boosts the mental signal and allows them to read thought much easier. Sometimes too easy and they see what they shouldn't be looking for or look in places that are against their rules. So they wear the gloves to guard against inadvertent contact.

This time it wasn't me who made the mistake. I went by the Guide Page.

They explain this in the Guide - you guys should read it once in a while: ;)
The title shown onscreen is "Spider in the Web," but all previous references to the episode by JMS and others have called it "A Spider in the Web," so that's the title listed here. The longer title was also listed on the title page before the original satellite uplink.

The Psi Corps makes her wear the gloves.
As for G'Kar, it saves the makeup budget for the cost of prosthetic hands.

Perhaps, perhaps not.
Not one of my favorite Season 2 episodes but then the Mars and Earthgov backstorys hadn't gotten to me yet when this first aired.

I have this mental image of Andreas Katsulas getting one of those occasional scripts with a scene where G'Kar is wearing just a bath-robe and thinking "Oh, crap, not again!"... :D

BTW,
First appearance of Zack Allen.
I guess Lou Welch decided to become a Planetary Surveyor.

While I like Zack, I miss Lou. IOW what happened to him/why he left.

Dunno the how & why, but it looks like he was working up until 2004. :)

- Mmmm, Adrienne Barbeau. But without the cleavage she showed recently on Carnivale. :(
I am not a fan of Jeff Conaway, so I'm not thrilled he was added to the cast.

Katsulas may have enjoyed it as it helped him get into character.
I remember seeing a video short on B5 (might be on one of the DVDs) where Peter Jurasik said, "If you want to talk to Andreas, get it in first thing in the morning or at the end of the day because once the makeup goes on, he's G'Kar."

Guys got earn money for those prescription drugs somehow.
I think this is before he got bad so his presence on the show is tolerable.

Tolerable, even if he's dumb as an ox. :)

John Carter of Mars, huh? :)
It's good to be the Kin...Captain.
And what's with all the senators having a direct line to the Commander of Babylon 5?

The Psi Corps makes her wear the gloves.
Yeah, this was established as far back as The Gathering.
As for G'Kar, it saves the makeup budget for the cost of prosthetic hands.
I think other clues we have corroborate the idea of the Narns as having a cooler body temperature and preferring a slightly warmer climate than the other races.

Me either, but not much is demanded of him, particularly in this episode. If he were just another extra you'd never seen before, no one would even think twice about him or his performance. Seems only fair to give him as much of a break as someone else would have gotten in so small a role.
So about the episode... good to see some more depth to the Mars situation which we've gotten hints about before, and how it ties in to whatever's going on in Earthgov and on Earth. Feels like things are moving ahead.
I can't help be irked that the Tikara configuration's chair spacing is a meter, precisely. After all, I doubt their unit of measure bears any relation to ours. The scene would have been more interesting, and no slower, if he'd said "1.21 meters". Okay, it's a petty point... but how many times have alien governments given deadlines in multiples of 24 hours, in situations where no Earth influence is relevant? Bugs me every time.
Getting caught up... at least during the times I can pry my wife away from her wargames.
